My 9.9 Evinrude 4-stroke runs pretty good once it starts.&nbsp; The only slight problems I see are:<br /><br />1)&nbsp; It takes a long time to start and it might run the battery down if it took a little longer.<br /><br />2)&nbsp; There seems to be a lot of play in the throttle when switching gears before I have power.<br /><br />The question is:&nbsp; Should I run over to East Marina or just live with this until haul-out?

I would just try some new plugs....&nbsp; Not much to a tune up on a outboard. Unless the carb is gummed up.&nbsp; Check you fuel line to make sure you are getting a good prime before you try to start it.<br /><br />Let me know about the plugs they are hard to get too on that motor.&nbsp; I forget the part# so warn me so I have some if you are going to stop by.<br /><br />Let me know <br />Eric
